Earlier this week, several neighborhoods in Aruba were hit by a major power outage. Recently, Aruba has been increasingly hit by disruptions in the power grid, prompting network operator ELMAR to seek a swift and effective solution. Despite the busy pre-holiday period, Lovink managed to send a batch of cable joints to Aruba this week.
High Temperatures
The high temperatures and the sudden increase in power consumption during the hot season from June to September put a significant strain on the cables and distribution equipment, which, according to ELMAR, has led to an increased number of power outages.
Lovink’s cable joints offer a reliable solution in all soil conditions. Not only can the joints withstand water pressure up to 2 bar, but high temperatures and peak loads are also no issue. These are just a few of the benefits; the robust LoviSil® technology is the strongest joint of its kind. Learn more about our LoviSil® technology [link].
The contacts were established through the Dutch company Voltec, specialists in high-quality and innovative cables, components, and systems. Patrick Thissen explains: “Our long-standing and highly valued relationship with ELMAR sought us out for a solution to their problem, and we quickly turned to Lovink. Thanks to the quick and decisive actions of Lovink, Voltec, and ELMAR, we can deliver the requested joints to Aruba within a few days.”
The first shipment of cable joints is intended to resolve the recent outages. A second shipment will follow in October to strengthen the network in multiple locations.
